Tsinghua High School students attend the 2017 Peking University Model United Nations Conference

From March 16 to 19, 2017, the 2017 National Model United Nations Conference for Middle School Students of Peking University was held in Yingjie Exchange Center of Peking University。Wang Botian, Tang Jingwu, Li Siyuan, Zhang Long 枻 and Hu Zhuli from Grade 16 of the High School Attached to Tsinghua University formed a delegation to attend the meeting, led by Fu Shushu and Zhao Jing, the instructor of Model United Nations。

During the conference, the Tsinghua Affiliated High School team represented Croatia, Venezuela, and international judges to participate in the Legal Committee of the United Nations General Assembly, the Council of Europe, the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean, the International Criminal Court and other meetings。Topics include "Prospects for soft drug control in international law," "Coordinated governance of border issues in Europe," "Coordinated responses to economic problems in developing countries," Prosecutor v. Ferdinand.Nasimana, Jean-Bosco.Barayagiza, Hassan.Eun Chi Tsai (hate media case) "and so on。The five representatives of Tsinghua High School participated in the meeting, and they expounded their views through speeches under the rules of procedure of the United Nations, and conducted debates, consultations and lobbying for "their own national interests"。Finally, Wang Botian and Tang Jingwu won the best Position Paper award of the Committee with their excellent writing ability and improvisation。

The National Model United Nations Conference for Middle School students of Peking University is one of the most influential and academically advanced model United Nations conferences in China。The theme of this year's Peking University Model United Nations Conference is "Response to The Times: Exploration and regulation".
